Good afternoon class! 

The app I’ve chosen to review is the airbnb app. I’ve chosen this app because I often travel, and use it continuously to find convenient places to stay on short notice. This app provides affordable options to a catered budget, in which you are able to specialize amenities and scenery. The usability of this app can be described as simple and beginner-friendly. When opening the app, the user is automatically taken to the home page, in which a search bar is displayed, with the option of selecting a specific location and filter, in which multiple options are provided in order to specialize your selection experience. Navigating the app is a smooth process, because of its easy to use features. The booking process is direct and rapid, oftentimes receiving booking, check-in/check-out as soon as your stay is purchased. Users are able to scan reviews, ratings and cancellation policies, creating a transparent experience for individuals considering booking their stay. 

The design of this app can be described as modern and minimalistic. The layout can adapt to whatever device you chose, using a neat and clean cut appearance to display listings. The colors are simple, giving the actual properties listed, the ability to shine. There are little to no animations creating a professional look for users. The app also uses transitions that load quickly, providing a dependable encounter between hosts and consumers. 

The functionality of this app includes several main features: filters, hosts to consumer messaging, maps and wish lists. Filters are open to users to specify the requirements for their Airbnb experience. Filters include: price range, room type, pet friendly, washing capabilities, wifi, parking, etc. Direct messaging provides hosts and Airbnb customers the ability to communicate quickly and directly, throughout the duration of their stay. This provides easy access to both parties in the event of a need being addressed. Maps provides users with the ability to find a property that is as close to their needs or itinerary as possible. Finally, wish lists is a tool used to save multiple properties to revisit in the future, or compare with other individuals. 

Recommendations for Improvement 

Every app has room for improvements as consumers' needs tend to evolve over time. Price transparency is something this app needs to improve. Final costs, cleaning and tax fees can radically increase the final total, misleading customers with the initial prices listed. Listing a prediction for these additional costs can help to create a more realistic listing of costs. A chance for enhanced experience verification also needs improvement. Opposing consumer reviews can confuse users on whether or not the property is suitable for an extended stay. Having designated individuals to stay at these properties and give an unbiased opinion of their experience would create a trusted opinion in which users can rely on. Additionally, adding a feature for online tech support can provide users with a more safe and trusted experience.

Overall, the airbnb app stands out by its easy to use features. With very few improvements, this app will continue to dominate the hosting space. It blends the idea of travel easy usage and provides a space for anyone to create an entrepreneurship in property management.

Traveling Through a Network

Using the ping and trace-route commands were easier than I initially thought. I used the  google.com Links to an external site.  domain per the suggestion.The instructions were clear and I was able to gain valuable information about the process of finding and navigating data packages. Both the ping and traceroute commands work together to provide a useful and productive network travel process. The ping command used can be explained as, submitting information and waiting for a response, tracking the amount of time taken it takes for this process to happen.
